Canadian journalist missing in Tripoli
Postmedia NewsAugust 25, 2011
Dozens of journalists stranded by fighting, in a hotel in downtown Tripoli, have been released, according to media reports Wednesday morning. But there has been no news of a Canadian journalist known to be in the hotel.

Journalists from a number of various news agencies, including North American ones, as well as independent journalists, were holed up inside the Rixos hotel under the watch of armed men loyal to Moammar Gadhafi.
Matthew Chance, from CNN, tweeted Wednesday morning: "Rixos crisis ends. All journalists are out!"
But among those in the hotel was Mahdi Nazemroaya, a freelance journalist from the Ottawa area. His status, however, could not be confirmed Wednesday morning.
As rebel forces in the Libyan capital continue to work to push Gadhafi from power - even capturing the dictator's fortified compound and headquarters - his whereabouts remain unknown.
