New Funding for Tech Start-ups at Communitech

New Funding for Tech Start-ups at Communitech

Communitech, the Waterloo, ON-based digital media centre, is getting set to unveil a new funding program for tech start-ups.
Called Communitech HYPERDRIVE, it’s a $30-million-plus program to help build early-stage technology firms into "Series A" VC funded companies. Details will be announced on April 17th, but leading funders and global mentors are said to take part, with international soft landings and full lifecycle support being offered.

Creation of The Communitech Hub was enabled by contributions from the provincial government, the federal government, the City of Kitchener, and private industry. The Hub is part of the Ontario government's Ontario Network of Excellence (ONE), a collaborative network of organizations across Ontario designed to help entrepreneurs commercialize their ideas.
The Hub is also connected to other digital media centres across Canada as part of the Canadian Digital Media Network (CDMN).
