Canadian Palestinians this Sunday are commemorating the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People in Palestine House in Mississauga.
The festival will start with the New Arab Book Fair at 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm, with the participation of Amal Rashid, Reham Taima, and the Yasmine Foundation (Farah Shabaro), and Dr. Abdel Qader Fares.
Presentations include speeches to mark the occasions, displays of Palestinian resistance and culture, besides the Book Fair, theatre, poetry, dabke, and film screenings.
Solidarity Day activities are free for all Arab community.
Pursuant to General Assembly resolution 32/40 B of 2 December 1977, the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People is observed annually on or around 29 November, solemnly commemorating the adoption by the Assembly, on 29 November 1947, of resolution 181 (II), which provided for the partition of Palestine into two States. The observance is held at United Nations Headquarters, the United Nations Offices at Geneva and Vienna, and elsewhere.
